The Newport dress is strechy, but I wouldn't go down a size. It runs very true to size. I was almost worried that I should go up one size, but my mother and the store owner said it looked right. The fabric is the type that doesn't wrinkle and it almost like a silk jersey, so it can accentuate where you have any undesirable areas if it is too tight. I would definitely recommend getting it though. It looks much better on than on the hanger, which is saying something! ha!
