Two names or Just One?

So, darlings, I have an etiquette question for you. If you're a new reader, I rent space ahem, live in sin with my boyfriend. Everyone knows. It's not a secret. Now, my question I pose to you is, "Do I send Christmas cards to family signed by me or the both of us?". I don't want to offend any of our family. Our friends don't mind. Heck, they send one invite and one thank you note to us with both our names on it. So, I'm just a little worried about offending the old ones. So, one name or two?

I am assuming that you are in a long term serious relationship (you are living together!) so I would sign it from both of you! Since it's not a secret, I don't think it would be strange!

Sign both names. It's from both of you & it's not secret you live with the man. You bought a house together. It's not as if you just spend the night alot.

I've had friends deal with similar issues, although in their cases they had grandparents who weren't completely in the loop and were quite old-fashioned. So, they decided against signing both names (although one got caught when the return address label had both of their names on it, which I thought was kind of funny!). I'd sign both names.

I don't like with my fiance, but what I did on our Christmas cards was sign it from both of us. But on the outside of the envelope for the return address, I just put one of our addresses and no name. Maybe that would work?

When my husband and I were dating and lived together, we would send joint Christmas cards to our friends and maybe very close family that knew him well. If it was more extended family, I just signed my cards and he sent ones to his family that he just signed. Cuz really the card wasnt from both of us.

I would say both names, but I would talk to the bf first and see if he minds. :)

I also a sinner ;-), as you know, and I think our strategy will be to send joint to everyone except those family members who are obvi not into the living together situation, also know as the old school sticklers (who are also praying that we get married any day now, seriously--it's happening...haha).

I would send one from both of you to your mutual close friends, and maybe even your parents (if they know and you all are close and theyre comfortable with the arrangement) and then send individual cards to everyone else. It's your card and you can do whatever you want of course, but I know in my family it would be more headache than it would be worth to me.

I would sign both names especially since it is no secret you two live together.

I would do whatever is going to make YOU the most comfortable. Who cares what anyone else thinks, it what matters to the two of you that's important.

I live with my bf, it's a serious-leading-to-marriage kind of a thing, and our xmas cards are from both of us. :)

I say go ahead and sign them with both names if you want, I know a couple who don't live together but sent them out together this year anyways. Just popping by to say hi from SITS!
