Puggy needs a little prayer today....

Remember the other day when I was talking about how grateful I was to receive my bonus and how this money came at the most opportune time. Remember me saying the money wasn't about me. I haven't wanted to talk about it very much, but the day has come today. I dedicate this post to one of my very best friends. And, her name is Victoria. Sometimes, it's wug, puggy wug, Puggy, pug, baby (pronouced bay-beeeeeeee), Tori, pretty girl, and I could go on. Most often, we call her Puggy. I always make up words to songs to include Puggy for example, the tune to my little teapot...here goes,

"I'm a little puggy, short and stout
here is my tail, and here is my snout
rub my belly, and I won't pout
I'm a little puggy, short and stout."

Okay, I bet you're ready to vomit now. My dog is my baby on 4 legs. We've been through it all together these past three years, the good and the bad times. I sing to her, she jumps up and down when I get home, she follows me around like a small child, she cuddles with me while we eat ice cream and watch tv, she likes long walks, she ALWAYS listens when I talk, she loves me unconditionally, and when I'm sad she licks my tears away. She's one of my best friends. Puggy is having surgery today. I dropped her off at the vet this morning and big ol' tears welled up in my eyes. I am so nervous for her. It could possibly be a big surgery. She has had a little belly button hernia since she was born. It's not serious, but my vet has always said he will fix it if she ever goes under. And, she's getting a little nose job today. Puggy lately has been sounding like a grown human having a full blown panic attack. She has trouble breathing when she gets hot or excited, and with her being a pug, this is often. Her little nose job is just lasering her nostrils to widen them a bit to allow more air to come in. But the real kicker is, once she's asleep, my vet is going to determine whether or not he's going to cut her soft palate. If needed, this will allow her more airflow. I am so nervous. I know my vet is awesome, but that's my baby. I will be a hot mess until they call me and tell me everything is okay. Please say a little prayer for her!

Hi, I love your blog and I just wanted to say I'm praying for you and her. My Jack is my baby and I totally understand that if he was undergoing surgery I would be a hot mess too. Even with my vet being my uncle!

I will definitely be praying for little Puggy today!! I know how you feel. I had to take my Ollie girl to get fixed a couple months ago and I was very emotional about the whole thing. I cried at the vet when I picked her up and she had that little cone on her head and was still doped up on meds. It was so pitiful. I was a wreck for about a week before and a week after. Hope everything goes well with the surgery!!

Oh my goodness, both you and her are in my prayers! I'm a puppy mommy too and totally know what you are feeling right now. Millie, my pug, has had the nose job, but Cricket, my German Shepard mix, has had both knees reconstructed. Just remember, she'll be back in your arms very soon! Hang in there!

Oh how sweet is that song!!!! I just sang it for Thomas and told him I am going to make up a version for Lucky duck! haha! Our little children! I know she will do wonderfully, but I understand that scary feeling! It makes me nervous just to think about my Lucky dog going under! I hope she gets to feeling better soon and then she can go get herself some Sonic doggy dish ice cream! Praying for her!

I hope your little puggy is all better today. I always get anxious when my dog are under waiting for the vet to call and say they've woken up.

I hope everything worked out for your Puggy, I know how scary it can be when something is wrong with your pup!

my fawn pug Daisy is the same way with her breathing. The vet just put her on a diet to lose 5 lbs so that her breathing will be easier this summer.
The vets are always telling me about the nose/soft palate surgery but the breeder of my pugs said that the surgery is extremely risky and doesn't always help them in the long run.
I'm seriously praying for your Puggy and hoping to hear wonderful news soon. Please let me know how it goes so that I can make a decision about my pug as well.
