heels not required....

So, we had our registration on Tuesday.......and I wore heels. I wore heels to my commercial job; so, why not wear heels to the teaching job?!?!?! Ummm, yeah, I mostly sat at a desk at my last job, and I mostly stand now. Needless to say, my feet were killing me after only three hours!!! I was like, "Oh no, heels, buh-bye!" Flats are THE way to go. And, I picked up such a cute pair of flats at Target for $19.99. I know I'm on shopping hiatus, but these are needed for work. Therefore, I'm excused:)
These, also, come in black. I thought the black ones looked a little too cheapy/vinyl-y if you know what I mean.

I wore heels during my first three years of teaching, and um yeah...NOT ANYMORE! I will still wear heels once or twice a week, but trust me, I sit down a bit on those days ;)

I found similar black ones at Payless. They were half off (only $11).

It's hard to wear heels and teach. I see a lot of K-2 student teachers in our building that try to wear them. They don't work well on the playground.

I work as a restaurant hostess part time and I have quite a stash of cute flats, Kohls is where I picked up my most recent pair :) I figure even shopping hiatus' don't cover work shoes!

Some of the teachers I taught with wore heels all day, and I never understood how they did it. Flats are a must. I even kept a cute pair of flip flops in my desk drawer for those days when my feet needed an extra break. Love your new flats. Very cute!

Those are cute. Love Target. I also find great flats at J Crew Outlet store if you happen to have an outlet mall in the area!

I know you are on a shopping hiatus, but I wanted to tell you the Cole Haan Air flats are super comfortable, really well made and last a really long time. personally, I find that bargain flats leave my feet hurting just the same as heels. Hope you love your new job!
