Don't G00gle anything EVER!

Go*ogle is the devil. SERIOUSLY. Don't google* anything medically related. It will only make your paranoia skyrocket. And don't go to WebMd for that matter either.
Oh I'm sure you're wondering where I've been due to the MIA stunt I've pulled. Sorry, I've been busy with school stuff and being sick. Yes, that's right being very, very ill. I'll get to the sick part first.

The last time I ate LC's mom's lasagna, it gave me severe heartburn. Last weekend, we went over for our Sunday dinner, and lasagna was the main course. Mama LC said, "I hope it doesn't kill you this time, Belle". Oh lawdy, you don't even want to know, but I'm going to tell you anyways. On the way home from LC's parentals, I thought I was having the worst heartburn. This was around 7:30 pm. At midnight, it wasn't letting up. I'd tried tums, pepto, nexium, you name it. Nothing OTC or prescription was relieving it. About 2am, yeah, the pain made me sick. I called the 24 hotline to my doctor, and the nurse was like yeah, you need to go to the hospital. So, after going the ER which seemed like a LIFETIME, I found out that I had gastritis aka bacteria in the stomach. Not a big deal I guess. Put off work 2 days, antibiotic given, done. I'm feeling back to normal, and the hospital calls with  my CT scan results. Evidently, they did a scan ruling out gallbladder issues last week while I was in my morphine-dilaudid induced state tis true i did not wake up for a whole day thank you pain meds So today, I'm enjoying the start of my week off, and the hospital calls with the results of my ct scan. Ummm, yeah, so I have a fatty liver and mild degenerative joint disease. I have no idea what on earth either of these two things are. So, I did the inevitable. I GOOGLED* THEM. OH MY WOW, NEVER GOOGLE* ANYTHING YOU THINK CAN BE POSSIBLE WRONG WITH YOU. I thought I was going to die until I blew up twitter and a wonderful nurse and a med student calmed me down. Thank you  ladies. So a lesson to everyone else, DO NOT GOOGLE* MEDICAL TERMS. IT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU PARANOID, CRAZY, AND A HYPOCHONDRIAC.

Hope you are feeling much better! I am a constant googler and I agree it can make you so paranoid!

Doctors hate it when we do that, too. Mine particularly dislikes WebMD;-) because it certainly makes people CRAAAZY! xoxo

You poor thing. Hope you're feeling better very soon. Thanks for the good advice about Googling with caution.

Take care of yourself and have a relaxing Thanksgiving...

Gastritis is what I dealt with forever before it developed into an ulcer (ulcers are basically bacteria in your stomach. everyone has it but people with ulcers have too much and stress can escalate it.) The good thing is that you can "treat" it like you already do for your other stuff. I think I told you this before but I have a list of foods I can't eat including fried food, anything too fatty, salty, acidic (tomatoes/sauces like in lasagna), caffiene, etc. Basically eat very bland for a few days and you should feel better. I'm sure the whole being a new teacher stress is pushing it along. I set aside some time every week to chill out and it has helped so mcuh.

I hope I haven't freaked you out more with that info. Just figured having some basic info from a none google source might help :)

Google and Web MD are the worst. Somehow when I check my symptoms I am immediately convinced that I have the worst thing listed. Last week I was pretty sure I had a brain tumor because of google. :) Glad to hear that you are feeling better!!

omg, poor thing! Glad you're doing much better. What in the world does your MIL put in that lasagna? I'm curious to know what she said this time when she found out you got sick. :-)
