Pants Problems

Ugh, buying pants is SO depressing:( While I'm not a bigger girl, I'm not exactly Kate Moss either. In all reality, I'm borderline hourglass/pear shaped. I'm a 2 to 4 up top and a 6 on the bottom. My problem is I'm built more like JLo, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson-esque. I've got a booty, and pants just NEVER seem to fit right. Pants are made for skinny people and/or people with no curves.

I've really wanted to do a color blocking outfit. And of course, I hate ALL the pants I've tried on.  I tried on these blue pants below with a bright turquoise blue top. Color blocking looked great; however, the pants, eh, not so much. I feel because they are lighter they put too much emphasis on my hips/butt area and make me look bigger.
Then, I tried on these ankle pants below. Color was great, fit was meh. Actually, I think I kind of liked the fit, but they weren't really "ankle" pants. They were more like highwaters. You know, too long to be ankles and too short to be actual pants. Ha! I guess I could buy them and have them hemmed, but I just don't want to go through the hassle.

Anyway, that's my pants pity party. I just absolutely LOATHE shopping for pants:( Hopefully, I'm not the only one...

You're definitely not the only one! I'm the same, 4 on top, 6 on bottom and shopping for pants is always a hassle. I end up with so many cute tops and never any pants to wear them with. My closet is filled with dresses as a result! :)

I hate shopping for pants too! I finally replaced the black pair I had been wearing for the last few years that are too big. I don't wear them often, but if I need them they look ridiculous because they were too big! I found some that I liked, but then realized they were WAY too long! Apparently every one is also tall! I decided to have them hemmed because I couldn't go through the process of trying to find a different pair! Pants drive me nuts so it's why I pretty much stick to dresses!

I totally feel your pain!!! I have the hardest time finding pants, especially now that I've lost weight!! I've got a curvy figure too. Plus being so short, I have to hem just about everything, but also I feel like the proportions get messed up being so short but trying to wear reg length pants. And fhere just arent enough pants that come in petites! I'm now a size 4, sometimes a 6, in jcrew outlet I'm a 2 (vanity sizinggg but I'll take it haha). My problem is all the skinny pants I try on bunch up on my upper thigh below my butt... Not cute!!! I think is a proportion problem :/ maybe I'll just stick to leggings haha

You're not alone. I can never find pants that fit my thighs, hips, and waist. It's always one or the other.

I think pants are almost the one piece it's ok to buy that are almost right and then get tailored to fit. Maybe that option will help you get pants that are perfect for you...

You're not the only one! Other than my jeans, I don't even really wear pants....at all. I'm an hourglass as well, and I have yet to find pants that don't make me look ginormous. Hence my love of skirts and dresses. Good luck!

Pants are so hard, my thighs are my enemy!! They just never..... fit. Ugh. And lately I've developed a lovely little gut and that makes it even worse. BLAH!

um are we twins? i HATE my lower body. i have short legs, a giant booty, and just overall grossness going on. then a slight waist and svelte upper limps...what gives?

i tried on those blue pants...they were a hell yeah from the back and then i looked like a mail man in the front. just unflattering. ugh.

then i also tried on those ankle pants...again they almost fit great, but just not quite.

i ended up buying a green pair which also fit pretty poorly once i got them home and wore them for more than 30 seconds. and i bought a blue denim-ish pants that are cut like jeans. these actually fit great. i tried on the identical pair and yellow and they were disgusting. so frustrating!

I have the worst time finding pants and jeans that fit right and it seems every time I find pants or jeans that I love, they either change the style slightly or stop making them completely. I wear skirts or dresses most days because of it.
