Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, high school football, beer, country music, and acoustic guitars. It's being hospitable, being devoted to front porches, magnolias, the good Lord, and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way.

Weekend Shenanigans...

So, LC was out of town this past weekend in Nola [one of my fave cities btw] for a bachelor party. My fave thing about when the hubs goes away is SSB. For those who don't know, it stands for "Secret Single Behavior." ha:) Cue letting the pug loose in the house, watching Real Housewives of Any City on marathon, and having a girls' night out for a birthday party:)))) Two of my friends, Fratty Bachelor and IrwinEsq [you may know them from Twitter], have birthdays that are days apart so they usually have a combined birthday party. I brought along my best friend P, and we had a blast!!!! I didn't even get home til 6am which is pretty unusual for me. Needless to say, I was super tired all day Sunday!
 OOTN: Birthday Party Downtown
shoes: Paris Hilton senorita
jewelry: bracelets (old) necklace (Bellevue Collection)
btw, don't you love the Tiffany blue! This is my best friend's little sister's room. So tempted to paint a room this color. ha!
We started off at Earnestine and Hazel's [it used to be a brothel, and it's supposedly haunted] for the birthday party. Later on, this was the stamp put on us for re-entry at a place we went to called Raiford's. If you are ever in town, you HAVE to check this place out. There's no other like it! Sexxxyyy! ha:) I swear one of us is about to squeeze the other's hand off.
What am I 22 again? Typical college girl pose: peace sign, kissy face. barf!

OOTD: Surprise 50th birthday party
top: Banana Republic tee
jeans: 7 For All Mankind
shoes: not shown because they are non existent as in they broke [just my luck on Sunday]
sunglasses: Ray-Ban wayfarers
jewelry: bracelets (old); necklace (Stella & Dot Zahara)
As you can tell by the pic, I am not my normal self. I'm bloated due to shenanigans from the night before, all the bbq, potato salad, and fountain coke I had for my aunt's birthday party not to mention tired from only getting like 4 hrs sleep. I'm always thinking about how boring I've become. Then, I have a night out and about and remember why I quit having said fun. Yeah, I think I'm good for another 6 months for a "night on the town".

PS-don't forget about my bubble necklace giveaway! Ends tomorrow:)

You look great in both outfits! Saturday night sounds like a blast, but I totally agree about dealing with the tiredness the next day.
