I tell you what--- I received the best Christmas present of all today. I went with my mother to her post surgery follow-up appointment this morning. Her doctor said he got 100% of the cancer and even the margins around the area 100%. I haven't slept well the past few nights due to anxiety over her appointment. Now, I can rest easy. The next step is meeting with her radiologist to determine if she will be a candidate for the new radiation therapy (lasts only 5 days) or traditional radiation (5 weeks). Either way, she is given a clean bill of health. And for that, I am grateful!
We celebrated with lunch at J. Alexander's and went to do a little Christmas shopping afterwards. While in the mall, she stopped by the Pandora store and found a bead she'd like to add to her bracelet. Sadly, not really sadly, they were out of stock and weren't sure they'd get it in before the holiday arrives. I tracked it down at a jeweler in town and purchased it for her. I think she'll be pleasantly surprised!
Now, if my dog can just remain okay, and I can get pregnant this summer from IVF, my Christmas list will be complete. Counting my blessings one at a time...
