I survived!!!!!!!

So, loves, I survived this Black Friday madness. It was my first time out believe it or not. Usually, my parents will always call me about things or pick things up for me. This year, I had the day off work and decided to go for it. Oh my, what an experience it was! The first stop, Toys R Us, at midnight. Yeah, after about 11 squad cars show up to control the massive crowd, we think a Waffle House trip sounds much better. On the way to eat, I passed Best Buy. This was a little after midnight, and the line was already forming for the store. And get this, there were tents set up. Seriously, camping tents. My parents say that people start setting up tents on Wednesday night in order to be in line for Friday. Ummmmm, yeah, I think my sanity is worth more that that. kthankssomuch. We returned to Toys R Us an hour later, and the line had almost diminished altogether. Or, so, we thought. We got into the store, and it was sheer madness. A line wrapped around the whole entire store. And the checkout time was 3 freaking hours. Yeah, I'm not really into waiting for a few toys THAT much. So, off to Wally World we headed. I didn't realize that Black Friday shopping was serious stuff. They had all the advertised items wrapped up in bins and security watching each bin. The bins weren't allowed to be opened until 5am. Some were open before 5, but they were the less desirable to shoppers is why. I saw people keeping their hands touching a Rock Band box just like I've seen those ladies on those shows who try to keep their hand on the wedding dress the longest to win. It was cah-razy. I saw people literally bum rush each other over some furr-kin thing. Yeah, there a lady screaming for more security as 5am hit over some fake furry dog that moves and a cabbage patch. And people were pushy, and sometimes down right rude. All in all it was worth it! I got some great toys and pjs for my angel tree kids, ornaments that were a steal, another set of Corelle dishes that I needed desperately, among other things.

Hope you ladies survived this day! Whew, what a day it was!!!!! I, also, hope you all had a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving. I am thankful for everything God has given me. Ciao!

Yeah, I was at TRU last night too. It was insane! We were probably the 4th group of people let in the store. I got what I needed & left. Check out was quick & painless.
The thing I found amusing were the people at Target in tents... at 11:30pm. Or the people at Best Buy with kerosene heaters. Nothing is worth that much.
Glad you survived!

Okay, this post was hilarious! I'm reading about all of this horrible stuff and crazy shopping madness that would've driven me insane, and then I get to "All in all, it was worth it." What?! You are too funny!

Oh gosh, I did this last year and swore that I would never do it again! I had the same experience as you, and it is sooooo not worth it to me! This year, I met up with my mom at 10am and by that time the crowds had cleared!

I couldn't do it--the only shopping we have in my childhood hometown is the J Crew warehouse, which is amazing. They had a super secret sale from 3pm-8pm, my kind of schedule, so we went and had to wait an hour or so to get in, overall it was good B Friday!
