Wedding Wednesday...

We've already booked our caterer and decided on the menu. We have chosen to do a buffet style dinner versus sit-down which is relatively common down South.

Unless we decide to change anything here is the menu we decided on:

Appetizers to be served until the bridal party arrives at the reception site:
Hot Broccoli Cheese Dip
Hot, cheesy broccoli dip served with assorted crackers and herb toasts.
Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip
Hot cheesy spinach and artichoke dip served with assorted crackers and herb toasts.

Main Course...of sorts
Breaded Chicken Tenders
Crispy tender strips of chicken breast, deep fried to golden brown and served with BBQ and honey mustard sauce.
Mini Cheeseburgers
Tiny seasoned hamburger patties topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
Hot Sliced Roast Beef with Mini Rolls
Tender sliced roast beef in au jus, served with sliced soft buttermilk rolls on the side.
Macaroni and Cheese Bar
Mashed Potato Bar
Assorted Fruits and Cheeses

Petite Finger Sandwiches
A delicious assortment of bite-size sandwiches including ham, turkey, pimiento and cheese, and roast beef (chicken and tuna salad available by special request), served with assorted cheeses and dressings. Garnished with a cucumber rose.

Assorted Cold Canapes
Various bread rounds served with a piped cream cheese spread and garnished with fresh veggies.

As far as desserts go, I am still undecided what we are going to have as far as that other than cake. We're tossing around the idea of chocolates and mini-cupcakes from a local bakery to be placed on a table with favor boxes so that our guests can eat them there or take them home along with koozies.

My big thing was I don't care if anyone thinks my menu or my favors are redneck southern. I wanted a menu where people would ACTUALLY eat the food and a favor they would actually use. To me, that's more important than wasting our money on food that our guests can't even pronounce or some silly favor.

Your menu sounds deee-licious! Everyone who has taste buds will love it!
What about an assortment of bite-sized pies or tartlets? Pecan, key lime, coconut, chocolate...they are one bite, something different than cake and they make a beautiful presentation....and would go great with your buffet :O)

I know it's been overdone but our candy bar was a huge hit! anything people can take home is awesome, I think that's all you need other than cake!

I think your menu is fine!! I had a co-worker give out little boxes of Krispy Kremes as wedding favors. It was really late when everyone left the reception, so it made for a perfect treat!!!

That sounds like a great menu. I might only suggest having some fruit and cheese for the kids who don't like green veggies, but that's assuming you'll have children there...

Whe is your cake tasting? Be sure to eat first! :)

P.S. Did you know your posts are in the sidebar?
