The besties and I went to the Counting Crows concert Friday night at a local venue...wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, ---OUTSIDE! Who knew when we bought the tickets that a heat wave would be plaguing the South. Ha! It was 104 during the day, and I was like my face is going to melt off tonight. Anyway, we chilled at a local bar and grill across the street beforehand and listened to some live music from Ingram Hill [ps-check them out. lead singer---SUPER cute:)] and headed over around 8:30ish to the amphitheatre. The sun was down by then, and it had cooled down to 84 degrees with a slight breeze. It ended up being cooler than expected if you can even fathom 84 cool.
The show was good. They played Mr. Jones, Round Here, a couple of covers, and Perfect Blue Buildings. I was kinda bummed he didn't play Anna Begins, Rain King, or Goodnight Elisabeth. Oh, and they played Long December too in which Adam Duritz forgot the words mid-song. He picked it back it up and said he "hadn't played" this one in awhile. Hmmmm, methinks Adam had a little too much fun before his show. ;) One thing I really did like about it was at the end he encouraged everyone to go vote this fall. He explained that we all make a difference in what happens in our country no matter what/who we vote for, but the important thing IS to vote. What I really admire is he didn't go into politics, nor did he mention being a member of a certain political party. Nope, he kept it totally cool no matter what your beliefs are. For that, I respect him even more.
