Savannah Day 1

Before I begin writing about my stay, I have to say this...I absolutely fell in love with Savannah. I don't think I've ever been actually sad, I mean so sad you think about just running away and leaving everything behind sad, about a city before. I loved the history, the squares, the food, the people, everything. I would love to go back. In fact, I would love to live there. I've been talking to the hubs, and he doesn't seem to feel the same. Ha! But then again, he knows the saying, "Happy Wife, Happy Life." :)))))

We flew into Savannah on July 4th for my BIL's wedding. For the duration of the wedding, we stayed at the Hampton Inn in the Historic District. Honestly, if you don't care about staying in a "historic" place, this hotel was very reasonable, and walking distance to everything. I would recommend it:)
image from hampton's website. it looked like this when we stayed as well

i didn't take this pic. i don't think a lot of people who aren't interwebz peeps understand the importance of taking pics for the blog. i borrowed this from belford's website, and it looks like the view from the table we sat at in the corner.

We dined with my in-laws and family at Belford's Savannah this night. It's located in City Market and is walking distance from the Hampton. For appetizers, we had calamari, fried green tomatoes and crab cakes. All were delicious!!!! For my dinner, I had crab cakes; luckily, I got to try a bite for the appetizer to know they were delish! I had some of LC's she-crab soup which was very good. If you're looking for a nice meal, I think Belford's is a great place in City Market.
After dinner, we went across the market to a little place by Vinnie Van GoGo's. I don't know the name, but they make ice cream fresh daily, and it is sooooooooo good. I had the cookies and creme, and I'd probably need to go ahead and tell you that I ate it again once or twice during our stay. No wonder I gained like 5 lbs in Georgia. ha:)

While we were walking back, the fireworks began on the river. This is a blurry pic of what I could capture while walking on foot back to the Hampton.
Look at the moss covered trees...gorgeous!

No outfit post. I think I had on a dress I've posted about a few times on here. I'm just going to post day by day so I don't overload one post with pics.
