I can't believe the day finally came. It seems just like yesterday I started researching my family tree. I have a knack for finding people, I tell ya! That's another post for another day...
Through blogging, I met the nicest person. She has helped me tremendously in tracing back my lineage and putting together the paperwork. Without her tireless effort, I have no idea if this would have ever come to fruition. Without further adieu, look what I signed and mailed out on Friday:
Honestly, I think it's a done deal. My patriot is already recognized and used by someone else, and my lineage is pretty accurate. He's my great-great-great-great grandfather. He and his father served our country in the American Revolution. I am joining in another state (the lady helping me lives and is a member there), and I'm going to transfer to the local chapter near me. Excited!!!!! Please excuse the Lilly jewelry in the background.
Notice the pen. It's from the hotel we stayed at during our honeymoon:)

Congratulations on this successful endeavour! I am just beginning my DAR journey of tracing to my ancestor, so I am extra happy to see your news!

Oh that's so amazing! Something I would LOVE to do, too, one day. How exciting for you!

I've always thought stuff like this was pretty cool but I wouldn't even know where to begin tracing my family history back.
You'll have to let me know what you think. I've toyed with the idea of joining for awhile and have the paperwork proving my lineage, etc.
Congratulations!!
I am trying to get my things in order to apply to DAR as well.
Hey,are those "my" earrings in the background? :)
