I feel the inevitable break-up coming on...

It's gonna happen. I just know it. You know how things are going great, you built your relationship from the ground up. You started with nothing and after time, you built something magical, something beautiful, and something you cherish. When someone shuts off their phone all weekend, doesn't have contact with anyone, or is taking "space" surprisingly enough, the inevitable is bound to happen. But the waiting, that's what kills. Geez, don't leave me hanging and don't keep taking your sweet a$$ time *forgive me, I'm in the angry phase right now*. You know what sometimes it's not all about you and your dreams. Sometimes, it's about my dreams, OUR dreams. Sometimes, it's just not about the money. Sometimes, it's about sticking it out for someone else. Putting your ego on hold and making it work. Making the best of the situation. NO, I'm not talking about my relationship with LC. I'm talking about my relationship with Coach Cal. Not a "real" relationship, but in my head, and every other Memphis fan it is real. Memphis basketball brings my city together. But for the past few years, one season, one month, one tournament, and for one day, our city comes together. We don't care who's Mexican, Black, Asian, White, etc. We just care that those Tigers are WINNING=) We hug our neighbor when Tyreke drives that lay up. We don't care who takes that empty chair as long as they're wearing blue. We chug our beer when Sallie is raining threes. We play drinking games like take a shot every time they brick a three, and believe me people, they can brick some threes. We curse when they miss their freethrows, and we scream when they win. For us, Memphis Tiger basketball is everything. It makes you forget the recession, rich/poor, jobless, race, or any of that other crap that sucks in our society. It's the only glimmer of 2009 we see; because often, it feels like 1969 here. Oddest thing is that Coach Cal's daughter is an admin on a group on Facebook, and of course, I joined. I'll leave you with the title of the group, "Keep your Kentucky (cat paws) off our Coach Cal!"

I am so pissed about this! He is going to ruin Memphis basketball because he will take all the players and coaches with him! Ugh, I am not happy at all.

Awe! Belle! I seriously teared up reading this. I feel the same way! It's at the point where we just want an answer one way or the other! Quit playing with our hearts Coach Cal!

I can't believe nothing has been made "official" yet. I heard on the news last night that the head Booster from Memphis had a meeting with him & offered to match whatever monetary offer Kentucky offered him.
I wonder if he could be doing this for some big publicity stunt... I really hope he stays.

Oh, that's too funny! I feel the same way about my fave coach - Pete Carroll at USC {football}. If he ever left, it would break my heart!
