What kind of skin care do you use?

I'm one of those people who doesn't go and try out the latest craze. I've used Cosmedicine for a few years now, but I want to try something new. I want to use a reasonable skin care line, but not something that is outrageously expensive. I have combination skin (normal and oily, I'd say). Do y'all have any recommendations or suggestions. I'm open to all things such as over the counter from your neighborhood Target to something from a dermatologist. What do you use???

Hi! I just found your blog and I'm loving it! :)
Actually, I have had the best luck with Proactiv. Crazy, I know. It's not just for teenagers ;-)
I've tried lots of department and drug store skin care systems but even my hubby would say "babe, just switch back to Proactiv." after I would complain about my skin when I wasn't using it.

I wish that I could find one system to use, too. Right now, I use a mixture of Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Olay Foaming Face Cloths. I want to try some new things, but I am afraid changing everything will mess up my skin!

Can't wait to see what new things you try!

I just recently started using the Bliss products which you get get at Sephora and I LOVE it...it's a little pricy but not too bad!

I used to use Mary Kay, and loved it, until I became allergic (weird, yes). Now I use Clinique, and only Clinique on my skin. I use their sensitive skin line, and their redness-alleviating day cream is amazing. Their toner is super gentle, too.

I've tried a couple of different things. Proactiv was OK, but not great. Bliss was also OK, but I thought that the price was too much for only moderate effects. So right now I'm using plain old Olay detoxifying pore scrub, followed by a 1 minute in-shower Olay thermal mask, and then using Tazorac cream (from my dermatologist) at night. I don't have bad acne or oily skin, but I think the Tazorac keeps my skin looking really good :-)

I swear by Clinique! I absolutely love their products. I use their acne line and also the superdefense extra moisturizer with spf during the day. I used to use Proactiv, but it really fried and dried my skin.

Mary Kay is the way to go. It's best to stick with just one line (although I do use an OTC mascara) but their skin care - especially their moisturizers - are the best! I have oily/combination skin, too, really badly, and their Timewise for oily/comb line keeps it under control all day. They've also got an oil control lotion you will LOVE!

I know you know what I use, but I'll tell ya again girly! :) I use Mary Kay TimeWise. I bought it this summer because I was fed up with Clinique (I didn't feel like it did anything to my skin other than clean it) and Neutrogena (same problem, plus pimples). I have been using MK for over a month I think and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! If you get it, get the ultimate kit that is around $180. It has the microdermabrasion system in it and I am obsessed with that stuff. It is really gritty and gets all your dead skin off, then you put a serum on top that seals your pores. It is fantastic skincare line and I can tell a big difference in my skin in a few short weeks.

For my combination skin I use Clenziderm by Obagi. It is a three step system and it is 4 times stronger than ProActive, which did nothing for my breakouts. I've been using it for 3+ years, and I get maybe two pimples a year. NO LIE! It is amazing. I used to have terrible breakouts. Also, I use the Obagi Elastiderm for my eyes and the Health Skin SPF as my daily sunscreen. It's not oily! I am also on a preventative Retin-A treatment called Tretinoin. There are a lot of studies out by prestigious institutions that suggest starting on a wrinkle regimen in your twenties will significantly reduce the percentage of wrinkles you gain in your forties. I'm all about that!

P.S. I'll head over and check my blog email asap!

I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to you about my Clarisonic and the cleaner. My skin was going all spastic on me after using the brush with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash, so I decided to try the Refreshing Gel Cleanser that came with the brush and it has made my skin look awesome. So I'm going to stick with that. Sephora is sold out of it online right now, so I don't know what I'm going to do, but I would definitely recommend the Clarisonic cleansers.

Good luck!

I have been using Sensaria for quite a while now, and I love it! It makes my skin feel deliciously soft! I highly recommend it to everyone. They have a line for oily/combo/normal/dry/sensitive skins. And it is all naturally based also. I know many people who have super sensitive skin and have found nothing else that works as good. It can be found at Sensaria.com... and they have to most delectable mango body lotion also... if anyone is in the market for that.. :)

Caudalie is amazing. I have been using it for several months now and keep getting compliments on my skin. You can find it at Sephora, among other places.

I use Cetaphil moisturizer and facial cleansers. They're basic and gentle enough so that my sensitive skin doesn't break out!!
