Kreativ, woot woot!!!

Thank you True Beauty Inside and Out and Tales of a Short Southern Momma for nominating me for the Kreativ award. If you haven't checked out True Beauty's blog, you should. Today, she's giving a talk about Dysport the new competition to Botox. Seriously, she is so sweet and an absolute doll. And Tales of a Short Southern Momma is such a sweet read. I have no idea how this girl manages the things she does. She's a super woman=) Edited: to include Short Southern Momma. Sorry I forgot you on this yesterday!!!!

Ok, so here goes....

1. I have really long toes. I was so self conscious about my feet in middle school that I never wore sandals. Thank God for the wearing sock with sandals era circa 93-94'. Don't judge. You know you wore socks with your Nike sandals and Doc Martens. Tehe=) In school, my feet thought that was the BEST year. I started wearing sandals in high school and haven't looked back since.

2. I love absolutely LOVE L.O.V.E. being blonde. However, my checkbook does not agree with that statement. My hair grows extremely fast. Therefore, I am back brunette. My hair is a dark, medium brown; so, I dye it darker. My hair looks best blonde or super dark no not goth, just dark brown

3. I am obsessed with plucking my eyebrows every night, but then, sometimes, I let it go. It kinda like I'm obsessive in spurts, I guess. Ha!

4. This you probably know, but I love pugs. I love my Puggy Wug=)

5. My personal diagnosis for my love of antiques is that I have very few heirlooms. So, I want to have things of my own to pass down to my future children and grandchildren.

6. (for my new readers) I have a bachelor's in English with a concentration in Literature, I am one step away from my Master's of Arts and Teaching-just gotta write that thesis, and am a licensed middle school (4-8) teacher that works in commercial real estate. I plan on applying for teaching jobs this Spring. I miss it ALOT! just thankful to have a job in this economy to tell you the truth

7. When I was a kid, probably around 10 or 11, I decided to bake a cake. I watched my Mum do it a million times. actually, I never really paid attention b/c I was just waiting to scrape the left over batter from the mixing bowl So, one afternoon, I decided to bake a cake. I guess the parentals were outside or something because they weren't there when I was making it. Oh how the memory goes the older you get, but I digress...Ok, back to the story, I followed the directions as stated on the box. I wasn't so sure about how to do the egg whites, but it said they could be substituted with "whole" eggs. Now, I'll be the first to admit, I'm a pretty smart cookie, but sometimes in the common sense department, there is a lack thereof. Well, whole egg meant whole to me. I put the ENTIRE amount of egss, eggshells and all, in the cake. I was soooo proud when Daddy and Mummy came in and had them eat some cake immediately. My Daddy exclaimed, "Wow, this is kind of crunchy dear. What did you put in here?" I reply, "Daddy, duh, the recipe calls for the whole egg, and it's the eggshells that make it crunchy. why I didn't know there was something wrong since my Mum's cakes were never crunchy is beyond me I wasn't too sure how to do the egg whites since I don't know how Mummy does that." And of course, my parents laughed forever, and then, they explained to me what whole eggs in a recipe means. Basically, it means sans shells. Ha!

Congrats on the award! I majored in English with a concentration in literature also! I think it's so cool that you want to go back to teaching!

Also, I loved, loved your cake story and I'm always envious of people who can pull off two completely different hair colors.
