So, in case you don't follow me on Twitter, let me inform you of this mere feat. I am able to fit in my size 28 Seven for all Mankind jeans again. Yay!!!! While, I have no idea if I'll ever be able to fit in my 27s again (I can actually get them on and zip them up), I digress...
I have been going to the gym regularly once I joined. I haven't been dieting per se, nor have I been a gym nazi either. I remember hearing about this app on the iphone awhile back and decided to give it a try
it's a free app, trust me.
And like I said before, I'm working out to feel better, be less tired, and be in better shape. I didn't add this app to lose weight. If I do lose a few lbs, I'm okay with that though;) It's like a calorie tracker. While I don't eat much and most people think I am smaller and weigh less than I do, I didn't realize how many calories I am taking in a day on BAD food. Sheesh. Even the smallest portions of BAD food are high in calories. This app is handy just to plug in what you are eating. It's made me more conscious of the foods
well, i guess i should say HOW MUCH of the bad food I am eating. So, I feel it helps me. Plus, you can also plug in exercise as well. I think my problem is that I love anything cheesy, bread, pasta, or sweet. And, I have a tendency to go overboard; because, it tastes so darn good. So, I plug what I eat into this thing. It helps me be like whoa, yeah you need to slow down or eat some fruit as a snack instead of that cookie. For example, I had lunch with my aunt yesterday. Normally, I would order a 1/2 sandwich with a side such as Panera Bread's mac-n-chz. While it's not much, a small half of a sandwich and a small side of mac is HIGH in calories. Buuuuuuuuuuuut, I really wanted the mac-n-chz yesterday! Instead of ordering the usual, I just scaled back. I ate the small macaroni and my baguette. Actually, that was all I needed. I was full. The sandwich would have just been overeating. The app lists certain brands and the nutritional info and all that jazz. But, double check it with your label. Sometimes, the app is NOT always correct. For example, I ate at a restaurant and had checked their nutritional page before going. I went ahead and plugged in what I was going to eat into the lose it! app. The item was listed in the app, but it was a 150 calories higher than the restaurant website. I do work in a restaurant part time, and I know how it goes. Those nutritional information sheets are what they are
supposed to be if they are made correctly. People are human and they err. Maybe, they use a little more butter in the pan or a tad extra sauce, it happens. So, I left it the way it was. But for prepackaged things, I def compare to the label. Not only does the app provide already stored food calorie info, it allows you to create your own. If your particular item isn't in their catalog, you can add it. Just thought I'd pass it along. The fact that I can zip up my size 4 express pants is AH-MAZING. I'm not saying that I should be allowed in public wearing them, but the fact is I can get them on and zip them. Some women actually wear their pants this way, but that's another story in and of itself.....
Don't forget to enter my Port Southern
giveway to win your significant other a cute polo!!!!!! It ends tomorrow at midnight CST.

i heard about this app! I need to download it
Thanks so much for posting this! I'm in the EXACT same boat you are, except for the fact that I am a BOTTOMLESS PIT. I never feel full or satisfied. I am trying to fit comfortably back into my 4s. I bought Wii Fit yesterday and have been choosing my food more carefully. Let's keep each other posted on our journeys!
Sparkpeople app is a good one too. They have a lot more items listed for food and fitness. And it is free too.
Congrats! I will definitely have to check out this app!!
I also have this app and love it! I don't use it like I should, but I am going to start. I, too, have been working out at the gym and have lost weight from that alone. I have lowered my caloric intake a little bit, but I still eat "crap." I need to eat more fruits, veggies, protein and less cheese, bread, pasta, & sweets! haha. Those are my weaknesses as well. Good luck! Congrats on the jeans!
I live by Livestrong, since I don't have an iPhone. And it's pretty much the same thing. I LOVE IT!
Congrats, I will have to check it out!
Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration!!!
Congratulations Miss Belle, that is great news! Good for you!
Sending you a smile,
tp
Awesome job! I am changing my eating and exercising habits too, and I can't wait to see results, especially with Spring and Summer just around the corner! Keep up the awesome work, and keep us posted on your progress--it keeps me motivated too! :-)
LoseIt is such a great application. I've been using it since last October. It also allows you to create an account from their website so when Apple does major upgrades you won't lose your information in LoseIt - it has happened to me twice! An account also lets you add other LoseIt friends, so you can keep track of each others progress. My friends and I love it!
I also wanted to say that I am new to your blog, and I just adore your cute blue background design!
YAY!!! That is sooooo awesome!!! :)
They have a lot more items listed for food and fitness. And it is free too.
