Another DIY completed!

Oh snap, y'all! I'm on a roll!!!!!!

Well considering we've been married a little over a year, I guess it was time to actually get this completed versus letting the items continue to collect dust. I am the type of person who will collect things for a project and then never complete said project for months and months. Anyone else like this??

I found this shadow box at Michael's on sale. It's more of a champagne color, not silver. I included a pic of us at the church, our invitation, bling cake topper, the little place cards that LC's mom made with our names on them from the rehearsal dinner, the keepsake garter (has both our schools:), and the response received back from the president when I sent them an invitation to our wedding (thought that was kinda cool---btw, the envelope was hand addressed...fyi!)

Also, the one thing I liked about this shadow box was that it looked like a frame. A lot of the shadow boxes I found were very plain or were wood. Also, to get one that was similar to a frame and what I wanted was ridiculously overpriced online. RIDIC! Another thing I liked about this one was the off-white background. Believe it or not, it was rather difficult finding short pins for the shadow box. The ones included were white, and there weren't enough. Plus, I didn't want white anyway; I wanted pearl. I went to Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabrics, etc. No one had short pins:( They recommended I cut the pins down. Ummmm, no! I could just see that ending badly with multiple stab wounds due to rough pin and an argument with the hubs over my silly DIY project. No thank you on all accounts.

I wasn't crazy about the price, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I found some from a floral shop called fiftyflowers.com The price not crazy, but with shipping = CAH-RAZY. I mean the little package the pins came in was tiny. I mean they could have sent that in a little jewelry box type box for like 2 bucks. I bet you're wondering how I know this. I shop those auction sites on FB, and I know what they pay. So shipping for this tiny, teeny tiny container is way overpriced. But when you can't find it anywhere else, supply/demand always wins. Also, now that I'm writing about this I guess I could have checked with my local florist...no judging, y'all! ha;)

Wow that is pretty neat. You just gave me a brilliant idea. I was hoping to do something like that after my wedding but I never really had the time. Gee that looks great!
